NCP Norway volunteered to undertake a Peer Review process, which was conducted in Oslo from 21 – 23 October 2013. Representatives from the NCPs of Canada, Belgium, Colombia, Netherlands and the United Kingdom were the official members of the Peer Review delegation, and representatives from Hungary, Mexico and the OECD Secretariat participated as observers. The Canadian NCP chaired the delegation.
The objectives of the Peer Review were to strengthen the performance and functioning of the Norwegian NCP, by engaging with domestic stakeholders and counterpart NCPs from OECD countries, and to contribute to the strengthening of the NCP system as a whole, by sharing lessons learned, good practices and challenges of the Norway NCP with the broader community of NCPs from OECD countries.
Meetings were held with representatives from all of the Norway NCP’s main stakeholder groups, Norwegian government, Business organizations, Trade unions, Civil society organizations, Indigenous peoples organizations and Academia, in order to obtain balanced information. Representatives from international stakeholders (TUAC, BIAC and OECD Watch) also participated.
NCP Norway engaged Shift, an independent, non-profit center for business and human rights practice, as an independent third-party to accompany and support the Peer Review team.

The report was presented to the other National Contact Points at a meeting in Paris 20th of March. Before that meeting, NCP Norway had drafted a letter to the OECD with a follow-up plan and had solicited views from Norwegian stakeholders.
